Facebook app uses

One of the frustrating things we have noticed is that if you use a QR code to link to a URL such as facebook on a mobile then it tends to take you to the mobile site. Most facebook users would normally have the facebook app installed and it would make sense to direct people to load the app and automatically display your page.

This is not quite as straightforward as you may think but it is possible to do. The first stage is to make sure you know what your facebook page id is. To do this you need to go to your page and select the edit page button. Then look in your browser at the URL and it should be something like this

https://www.facebook.com/pages/edit/?id=123xxxx82x7&sk=basic

The id number is what you need for your URL which is based on the context as follows

fb://profile/{page id}

For example ours is fb://profile/98432129237

If you type this into safari on an iPhone it should automatically load the facebook application and subsequently our page. Now that you have the URL you can easily create a QR code and design a graphic to either go on a reception desk or as a window sticker.
