Print franchise becomes Talk of the town

The transformation of Kall Kwik Winchester to Talk Design & Print was a bold move that's already paying dividends for Winchester business duo Alistair and Nicky Peebles.
The couple decided to relinquish the Kall Kwik franchise in the Upper High Street earlier this year and go it alone, relaunching as Talk Design & Print over the summer.
The economic downturn has hit the print industry hard, but Alistair Peebles puts the longevity of the family-owned business down to the creativity of its longstanding team, a commitment to the latest technology and the loyalty of their customers, many of whom have been on the books for more than a decade.
"We bought the Kall Kwik Winchester franchise in 2004 when it was primarily a high street copy shop,” he explains.
"The industry has changed dramatically since then and staying afloat meant investing in the latest equipment, offering an exceptional design service and staying one step ahead of the game in terms of web and e-marketing opportunities."
As Kall Kwik Winchester, the Talk team was nominated for the Winchester BID Business Excellence Awards earlier this year. The Peebles 'one stop shop' approach encompasses web and print design, marketing expertise, production management and digital, litho and large format printing. With familiar faces and plenty of new ideas behind the new Talk name, the move to independence bodes well for the company's future in the city.
“We couldn't have asked for more from our team during the rebranding and have also received tremendous support and encouragement from our customers,” says Alistair.
“Winchester's a great place to be and our brighter shop front is already bringing in new customers. “We're committed to staying in the city centre but hope continued growth will allow us to expand our studio and move to larger premises in the near future.”
